The Detroit Lions are set to add a veteran linebacker, Ben Niemann, to their roster ahead of training camp. The news was reported by Justin Rogers of the Detroit News, but no details about the terms of the deal have been disclosed.

Niemann has played on defense for four seasons with the Chiefs and one season with the Cardinals. During that time, he started 21 games out of 86 appearances and accumulated 237 tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble, and six fumble recoveries. He also contributed 26 tackles in 11 postseason games with the Chiefs. Last season, he played in seven games for the Broncos primarily on special teams where he recorded two tackles.

As a linebacker who brings valuable experience and versatility to the Lions’ defense as they gear up for the upcoming season. It will be interesting to see how he integrates into the team and contributes to their success on the field.
