The Chicago Bears have signed 30-year-old wide receiver DeAndre Carter, according to Bleacher Report’s Jordan Schultz. Carter, who began his career as an undrafted free agent with the Baltimore Ravens in 2015, has spent time with several teams throughout his career, including the Oakland Raiders, New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, Philadelphia Eagles, Houston Texans, Washington Commanders, Los Angeles Chargers and most recently the Las Vegas Raiders.
DeAndre Carter’s experience and versatility make him a valuable addition to the Bears’ roster. His skill set and speed make him a strong candidate to contribute on special teams. Despite Chicago’s deep receiving corps featuring top players like DJ Moore, Keenan Allen and rookie Rome Odunze, Carter’s abilities on special teams give him an edge in competition for a spot on the team. In a crowded receiver room where roster spots are limited, Carter will be competing with other players with return experience such as Velus Jones Jr., Dante Pettis and Nsimba Webster. The competition for the final roster spots will likely come down to special teams contributions making Carter a valuable asset to the team.
