The England rugby team has called up Nick Isiekwe to replace the suspended Charlie Ewels in their squad for their summer tour of New Zealand. Ewels was given a two-match ban after being sent off in England’s match against Japan in Tokyo prior to their series with the All Blacks. The Bath lock was shown a red card for a cynical clear-out attempt on Japan captain Michael Leitch, making him the first England player to be sent off twice.

Isiekwe, who is 26 years old and plays for Saracens, will join the England squad as a replacement for Ewels on Tuesday, June 25 in Auckland. The team, led by coach Steve Borthwick, is set to start their two-match series against the All Blacks in Dunedin on Saturday, July 6, before returning to Auckland for the second match the following weekend. Isiekwe will have a chance to make his mark on the team and contribute to their efforts in New Zealand.
