Coach Brian Daboll has made the decision to promote Mike Kafka to assistant head coach of the New York Giants, adding a new title to his responsibilities as offensive coordinator. While there had been rumors that Kafka was considering leaving East Rutherford, both he and Daboll denied those claims.

Kafka’s role with the team is uncertain, and it’s not clear whether he will continue to call offensive plays in 2024. Daboll has suggested that he may take over play-calling duties himself. Kafka himself is not entirely sure what his expanded responsibilities will entail, but he is eager to learn and grow under Daboll’s guidance.

Kafka has gained additional experience this offseason by being involved in the interview process for hiring support staff. He sees this as an opportunity to continue growing and learning from Daboll. As the offseason progresses and the regular season approaches, Kafka expects his role to evolve even further.

Despite the uncertainty surrounding his current duties, Kafka is expected to be a top candidate for head coaching positions in 2025. His dedication to learning and growing within the Giants organization has put him in a strong position for future coaching opportunities.
