Emma Hayes, the former manager of Chelsea Women, has been appointed as the new head coach of the US Women’s National Team (USWNT). In her debut match against South Korea, Hayes led the team to a 4-0 victory. Swanson and Davidson both scored two goals each in the friendly win. Hayes described the match as a good start to her tenure, acknowledging that there is still much work to be done and holes in the team’s play. However, she is satisfied with the progress so far and believes they are on the right track.

In the match against South Korea, Swanson scored the opening goal in the 34th minute, while Davidson got another goal shortly after. The USWNT continued to dominate with Swanson scoring her second goal and Davidson getting another off Swanson’s corner. The team’s performance was seen as a positive sign for Hayes as she aims to bring back the winning legacy of the USWNT, which failed to do in its last Women’s World Cup appearance.

The next match for the USWNT is scheduled for June 4 against South Korea as it prepares for Paris Olympics in 2024. With Hayes at the helm, fans are excited about what lies ahead for this talented team of women’s soccer players.
