The Panthers are set to add UFL receiver Daewood Davis to their roster, as announced by Ian Rapoport of NFL Media. This move comes after a standout season in the UFL, where Davis received All-UFL honors for catching 41 passes for 446 yards and five touchdowns on 70 targets in 10 games with the Memphis Showboats this past spring.

Prior to his time in the UFL, Davis played college football at Oregon from 2017-20 and then at Western Kentucky in 2021-22. Despite going undrafted in 2023, he signed with the Dolphins as a college free agent. However, during a preseason game against the Jaguars in August, he suffered head and neck injuries that required him to be taken to the hospital. The game was suspended following Davis’ injury, and he was later waived by the Dolphins during training camp.

Despite his setback, Davis has now become the first UFL player to sign with an NFL team as the Panthers have added him to their roster. It will be interesting to see how Davis transitions to the NFL and if he can continue his success at the next level.
