The Abu Dhabi Securities Market has announced changes to the trading hours for shares of listed companies in order to better serve the market, listed companies, investors, and all stakeholders in the securities industry. The aim is to enhance transparency and disclosure in the market.
According to a circular issued by the market, if a Board of Directors meeting or General Assembly meeting coincides with trading hours, trading will be suspended from the start of the meeting until the decisions are disclosed on the market’s website before 9 am. The market recommended that meetings be held outside trading hours to avoid suspensions.
There are 12 cases where trading in shares of a listed local company may be suspended, including coinciding meetings with trading hours, unjustified stock price movements, failure to disclose financial statements, decisions to amend capital, and requests from companies to halt trading in their securities.
