Northwestern football has recently unveiled conceptual renderings for its temporary stadium that will be used for the next two seasons. The temporary field will include bleachers and stands that overlook the Lake Michigan lakefront, with a capacity of 15,000 attendees. This fall, Northwestern will host Miami (Ohio), Duke, Eastern Illinois, Wisconsin, and Indiana at the temporary field.

The renovated Ryan Field is set to be completed ahead of the 2026 season. Northwestern leadership is excited about the temporary field and believes it will create a unique atmosphere and provide students and fans with a different experience compared to previous years. Head coach David Braun agrees and believes that the temporary field will help create a home-field advantage and leave a lasting impression on the university’s campus.
