Tom Bayliss, who scored three goals in 40 appearances for League One side Shrewsbury last season, has signed a two-year deal with Lincoln City after being released by his former club earlier in the summer. The 25-year-old midfielder scored 10 goals in 81 appearances during his two seasons at Shrewsbury Town.

Bayliss began his career with Coventry City and played a key role in their promotion from League Two in 2018. He also had spells at Preston North End and a loan stay at Wigan Athletic, where he was part of the League One promotion-winning side of 2022.

Lincoln City manager Michael Skubala praised Bayliss’ talent and ability to score and create goals in League One. Bayliss expressed his excitement about joining Lincoln and highlighted the club’s “expressive” style of football under Skubala, which he believes will suit his attacking style of play. Skubala, a former Leeds Under-21 coach, guided Lincoln City to a seventh-placed finish last season, narrowly missing out on a play-off spot.

Bayliss is looking forward to playing at a high level with Lincoln City and believes the club’s ambition aligns with his own. He is optimistic about the direction the club is heading and is eager to contribute to their success on the pitch.
