France forward Sandy Baltimore is set to join Women’s Super League champions Chelsea on a four-year contract, pending a medical examination. The 24-year-old, who scored nine goals in 34 games for PSG last season, will fill in for Sam Kerr while the Australian striker recovers from a knee injury.

Chelsea manager Sonia Bompastor has made Baltimore the first permanent signing for her new team, and she will compete with other attacking players such as Catarina Macario, Mia Fishel, Mayra Ramirez, and Aggie Beever-Jones at Kingsmeadow. This move adds depth to Chelsea’s already talented squad and solidifies their attacking options.

Baltimore brings valuable international and domestic experience to Chelsea, having earned 28 caps for France and played in top-tier French football. Despite her impressive goalscoring record, Baltimore was left out of France’s World Cup squad, which hints at untapped potential that Chelsea may be looking to unlock. This signing is a significant boost for the Blues as they continue their quest for success in the Women’s Super League.
