The Cambridge Science Centre has recently relocated to a permanent and accessible location on the Cambridge Science Park. This new home offers visitors, especially children, a chance to engage in 20 interactive experiments and installations to inspire a lifelong interest in Stem subjects – science, engineering, technology, and mathematics.

CEO John Bull emphasized the importance of showing children that science can be fun and joyful, hoping to dispel the notion that it is not for them. He believes that by allowing children to experiment, fail, and rise to their challenges, they can feel a huge sense of achievement which is beneficial for society as a whole.

Young visitors like Cosmo, a six-year-old, expressed their enjoyment of playing with new gear exhibits and exploring various Stem topics from AI to zoology. Mario Satchwell, a science communicator, highlighted the value of exposing children to science and how each new encounter allows them to learn something new and exciting.

The center was originally located in the city but has now found a new home in the Science Park, surrounded by cutting edge Stem companies. Mr. Bull stressed the importance of having a permanent location to inspire young children, especially those facing barriers, to pursue careers in science and continue their studies in the field. The hope is to ignite a passion for science and encourage children to dream of a future in Stem.
