The Parker Park Community Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas has finally opened its swimming pool to the public. On Friday, June 14, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to celebrate the occasion. The pool is equipped with a splash pad, waterslide, diving board, basketball goal and a jacuzzi for parents to relax in while their children swim.

Nine-year-old Sebastian Roblero, who lives close to the pool, was thrilled about the opening and said it would be easy for him to walk to the pool from his house. The pool will be open every day from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and the entry fee is $6 for adults (16+) and $4 for kids 15 years old and younger. Children under 15 must be accompanied by someone 18 or older.

Jonesboro resident Nichole Reynolds and her two kids were also present at the opening day event and expressed their excitement about using the pool regularly. Reynolds mentioned that having season passes would be ideal for them to swim more often. Jonesboro Mayor Harold Copenhaver announced that a second HAWK light will be installed on Church Street near the community center in the future.
