The Bryn Consortium, a group of local businessmen, has successfully completed the acquisition of Torquay United. Following the approval of a Company Voluntary Agreement (CVA) by creditors, all debts will be paid off within six months. The consortium members, including Michael Westcott, Mark Bowes-Cavanagh, Tom Allen, Matt Corby, Rob Hawes, and Simon Robinson, will collectively own 93% of the club’s shares.

The remaining shares will be owned by approximately 600 other fans. Bowes-Cavanagh and Westcott have been named joint-chairmen of the club. The rest of the consortium members will join the board of directors alongside football director Neil Warnock. Clarke Osborne, who had put the club into administration earlier in the year and served as a director until now, has resigned from his position on the board.

In a statement on their website, Bowes-Cavanagh expressed delight that creditors had accepted the administrator’s proposal. He stated that he was excited to work with Paul Wotton and assistant Mike Edwards to build a strong team for next season. With over 20 years of experience playing for Hull City, Grimsby Town AFC Carlisle United FC Notts County and many more clubs under his belt Edwards brings valuable knowledge to his new role as an assistant manager at Torquay United.
