Zrinjski has announced the appointment of Mario Ivanković (48) as their new head coach, following the club’s decision to part ways with Krunoslav Rendulić. This comes after Rendulić’s team suffered a 3-0 loss to Velež in the Mostar derby, despite leading the team to a double crown and securing a historic placement in the group stage of the Conference League last year.
Ivanković brings extensive experience in working with first teams, having spent nearly six years with the same team. He also has experience working with national teams, having previously worked with the U17 and U19 national teams of BiH and currently being part of the professional staff of the A national team of BiH. Zrinjski has stated that Ivanković will be supported by coaches from the previous coaching staff until further notice.
The duration of Ivanković’s tenure as Zrinjski’s head coach has not yet been disclosed, but he will be assisted by coaches from the previous staff as he takes on this new role.
