Roane State’s new Knox Regional Health Science Education Center, set to open in the fall of 2025, is a testament to the generosity of donors like The Stowers Machinery Foundation and Covenant Health. The campus, located in West Knoxville and adjacent to Parkwest Medical Center, will span 130,000 square feet and host health science programs offered by both Roane State and TCAT Knoxville.

With an expected annual student population of over 8,000, the center will feature a large simulation center equipped for various healthcare training scenarios. Wes Stowers, CEO of Stowers Machinery Corporation, expressed his enthusiasm for the facility and the positive impact it will have on the community, stating, “Educating skilled healthcare professionals is a tremendous need and we are proud to support such a worthy cause.”

Construction of the initiative began in the summer of 2023 with private philanthropy donations totaling at least $7.5 million required to complete construction and ensure ongoing support for future students at the center. The total cost estimate for the project is $75 million, with $67.5 million coming from the state of Tennessee.

Those interested in supporting this cause can find more information on the Roane State Community College website.
