A new installment in the “Jurassic World” franchise is set to be released in the summer of 2025, with renowned actor Mahershala Ali joining the cast. The movie is being referred to as a “semi-reboot,” picking up after the events of “Jurassic World: Dominion” with new characters, locations, and dinosaurs. Director Gareth Edwards, known for his work on “The Creator” and “Rogue One,” is at the helm of the project, with the script penned by David Koepp, who wrote the original “Jurassic Park.”

In addition to Mahershala Ali, the cast includes Scarlett Johansson, Rupert Friend, Jonathan Bailey, and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo. Plot details are being kept under wraps but rumored names such as Dev Patel and Lily Collins have been circulating. The film is said to take place in a metropolis and production is set to commence in Thailand on July 1st. Originally directed by David Leitch but he left due to “creative differences” causing a delay in production schedule. However Universal quickly found a replacement in Gareth Edwards who has experience with sci-fi and monster movies. Produced by Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley both veterans of the “Jurassic” franchise, this new film will hit screens on July 2nd, 2025.
