Italian coach Eusebio Di Francesco has been appointed as the head coach of Venezia for the upcoming 2024/25 season. The team, which was promoted to Serie A after a three-year absence, made the announcement on Wednesday.

Venezia is set to make its return to the top flight when the new campaign begins in August. In a statement on their website, Venezia FC confirmed the two-year contract agreement with Di Francesco, which will keep him with the team until the end of the 2025/26 season.

Prior to joining Venezia, Di Francesco was coaching Frosinone and could not prevent their relegation from Serie A in 2024. However, he has a wealth of experience in managing top-level teams and will be looking to lead Venezia to success in their first season back in Serie A.

Di Francesco previously managed Roma from 2017 to 2019, leading the club to a third-place league finish and a semi-final appearance in the Champions League during his first season. He takes over from Paolo Vanoli, who secured Venezia’s promotion to Serie A last season by winning the Serie B play-off final after finishing third in the table.
