Main Street Gettysburg is currently launching a fundraising program to support the construction of a new Welcome Center. The project has received funding from multiple sources, including a Congressional allocation of $1,272,436, local fundraising efforts by Main Street Gettysburg, and a $300,000 commitment from the Borough of Gettysburg.

President Jill Sellers emphasized the importance of reducing the local tax burden and ensuring that the facility has sufficient operational funds for the future. Now that construction funds are secured, Main Street Gettysburg is focusing on raising money to cover the operating costs of the Welcome Center.

The Welcome Center’s endowment campaign aims to raise $1 million. A Legacy Endowment Fund has already been established thanks to a generous $100,000 donation from Destination Gettysburg. Sellers highlighted the long-term benefits of the project, stating that it will support the community for generations to come.
