Dr. Kimberly Beavers, MD, MPH has joined the medical staff of Sovah Health in Danville, Virginia. She will be providing gastroenterology services to patients in the area, helping to expand access to such care for residents of Danville, Pittsylvania County and the surrounding region.

Steve Heatherly, Market President of Sovah Health expressed his excitement about Dr. Beavers joining the team and community.

Dr. Beavers earned her Doctor of Medicine degree from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill where she also completed her residency and fellowship in gastroenterology and transplant hematology. She is Board Certified in Gastroenterology through the American Board of Internal Medicine and is active in professional organizations such as the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American College of Gastroenterology. She is also a Fellow of the American Gastroenterology Association and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases.

Sovah Health is a regional healthcare delivery system serving south-central Virginia and north-central North Carolina. It consists of two hospital campuses, one in Danville and another in Martinsville. The Danville campus is a leading medical center in the Dan River Region, employing approximately 1,000 people and hosting 175 physicians on its medical staff while Martinsville campus has been providing healthcare services to Martinsville and Henry County since 1970 with over 120 physicians on its medical staff and employing more than 800 people.
