CommonSpirit Health and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield have reached a new five-year agreement in Colorado. After months of negotiations, the two entities were unable to agree on terms, leaving thousands of healthcare consumers in the state looking for alternative care options. However, following their differences being resolved, Anthem members with employer-based, Medicare Advantage, and individual health plans in Colorado will now have in-network access to CommonSpirit Health providers and care sites until April 2029.

Anthem Colorado President Matt Pickett expressed his relief at the long-term nature of the agreement, stating that it provides network stability for members and cost predictability for Colorado employers for years to come. Meanwhile, Andrew Gaasch, Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of the CommonSpirit Mountain Region emphasized that this renewed partnership ensures that patients will receive compassionate care from the medical professionals they know and trust.

To address any questions or concerns, Anthem members are encouraged to reach out to the Member Service phone number on their Anthem ID card. Similarly, CommonSpirit patients should check out Mountain.CommonSpirit.org for assistance in finding appropriate care options. The new agreement between CommonSpirit Health and Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield brings relief to patients who were impacted by the previous contract expiration and guarantees continued access to quality care in the state of Colorado.
