On the same day, ESPN’s Mike Reiss reported that the New England Patriots had signed a new receiver, David Wallis. Wallis, who went undrafted out of Randolph-Macon College, had previously attended the team’s rookie minicamp on a tryout basis. During his collegiate career playing at the Division III level, Wallis had an impressive record of 146 catches for 3,144 yards and 34 touchdowns in 42 games. In the 2023 season alone, he managed 53 receptions for 957 yards with 12 touchdowns. Additionally, Wallis has experience as a kick returner, with an average of 20.2 yards per attempt.

Earlier in the day, Reiss had also reported that the Patriots had let go of offensive lineman Andrew Stueber. Stueber had been informed that he would be waived from the team. With the addition of Wallis to the roster, the Patriots are continuing to make changes and adjustments as they prepare for the upcoming season.
