Dr. Veerinder “Vinny” Taneja has been appointed as the new director of the City of El Paso’s Department of Public Health, set to begin in August. With over two decades of experience in public health at various levels, Taneja brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to his new position in El Paso.
Meanwhile, Dr. Hector Ocaranza, the current City-County Health Authority, who has been serving as the interim director of the department since May 2022, will continue in his role as the city-county health authority.
