Cone Health, a large healthcare network in the Piedmont Triad, has announced that it has been acquired by Risant Health, a nonprofit, charitable organization established by Kaiser Foundation Hospitals. As part of Risant Health, Cone Health will continue to provide high-quality care to the communities it serves in North Carolina.

The acquisition of Cone Health by Risant Health is pending regulatory approvals. Risant Health’s CEO, Dr. Jaewon Ryu, JD, expressed that Cone Health’s commitment to value-based care aligns well with Risant Health’s vision for the future of healthcare. This partnership will allow both organizations to expand access to value-based care to more people in the communities they serve.

Cone Health employs over 13,000 individuals and provides healthcare services to more than 200,000 patients in the Triad region. With this acquisition, Cone Health hopes to shape the future of healthcare in the Triad and beyond. The organization’s president and CEO, Dr. Mary Jo Cagle, stated that joining Risant Health will allow Cone Health to continue its mission of making evidence-based healthcare more accessible and affordable for individuals while maintaining its branding and operating independently with its board and leadership team.

Despite being acquired by a larger organization, Cone Health remains committed to providing quality care to its patients while continuing its mission of improving accessibility and affordability of healthcare services.

This move represents an opportunity for both organizations to enhance their services and reach more people who require quality medical attention in the region.
