In the -63kg category, Joanne VAN LIESHOUT, a two-time junior World Champion and last year’s bronze medalist, continued her impressive performance by reaching the final. She faced off against Angelika SZYMANSKA, who had dominated the field with her superior groundwork skills and efficient submissions. In a closely contested final, VAN LIESHOUT emerged victorious with a well-executed Uchi-mata-sukashi counter, securing her first senior world title.
