The 2024 French Open has seen a shift in power as Rafael Nadal, who has dominated the tournament for the past two decades, will not be competing this year. This marks just the second time since his first French Open win in 2005 that a member of the “Big 3” (Nadal, Novak Djokovic, and Roger Federer) will not claim the title.

In the early matchup of the semifinals, No. 2 Jannik Sinner will take on No. 3 Carlos Alcaraz. Both players are Grand Slam champions, with Sinner winning the Australian Open earlier this year and Alcaraz taking home titles at the US Open in 2022 and Wimbledon last summer.

In the second match, No. 4 Alexander Zverev will face off against No. 7 Casper Ruud, who has been the runner-up at Roland Garros for the past two years. Zverev is known for his powerful play while Ruud is known for his consistency and ability to adapt to different surfaces.

The matches are set to take place on Friday, June 7th at 8:30 a.m. ET in Roland Garros, Paris, France on Court Philippe-Chatrier and will be broadcasted on Tennis Channel. Those who prefer to stream can do so through options such as Fubo, DirecTV or VPN services. Stay tuned with Yahoo Sports for live updates on the action from Paris!
