Recently, the Golden State Warriors made some exciting changes to their coaching staff. Terry Stotts and Jerry Stackhouse have joined the team as assistant coaches, alongside head coach Steve Kerr. This move means that longtime assistant Bruce “Q” Fraser will be moving back to the second bench after three seasons on the front bench.

Stotts, 66, has 13 years of head-coaching experience and most recently coached the Portland Trail Blazers for nine seasons before joining the Milwaukee Bucks as an assistant last summer. Stackhouse, 49, is a former NBA player who retired in 2013 and has since transitioned into coaching with teams like the Raptors and the Memphis Grizzlies.

The addition of Stotts fills the top assistant role left vacant by Kenny Atkinson, who accepted a head coaching job with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Stackhouse’s spot on the staff was created by the sudden passing of assistant Dejan “Deki” Milojević in February. Initially, Kerr did not anticipate major changes to his staff, but after Atkinson’s departure, he decided to bring in coaches with previous head-coaching experience to strengthen the team.
