Chelsea has recently completed the signing of Omari Kellyman from Aston Villa in a £19m deal. The 18-year-old midfielder, who had limited first-team experience with Villa, has signed a six-year contract with an option for an additional 12 months at Stamford Bridge.

Kellyman, who has represented England at the Under-20 level twice, spent a decade with Derby County before joining Villa’s academy in 2022. Excited about his new teammates and the opportunity to play for a top club, Kellyman stated, “I am thrilled to be joining Chelsea. It’s an incredible club with a rich history and I am honored to be part of it. I can’t wait to get started and contribute to the team.”

This move marks Kellyman’s transition to London as he joins Chelsea after Ian Maatsen’s £35m move from Villa Park just a day prior. Additionally, Hakim Ziyech permanently joined Galatasaray from Chelsea earlier in the week after spending last season on loan at the Turkish club.

Chelsea continues to make strategic moves in the transfer market as they look to strengthen their squad for upcoming competitions.
