Rupert Murdoch, a 93-year-old media tycoon, recently married his fifth wife Elena Zhukova, a retired Russian biologist. The couple exchanged vows at Murdoch’s vineyard in California over the weekend. Pictures from the wedding were shared by The Sun, a Murdoch-owned British tabloid.
Murdoch has been a prominent figure in the media industry for many years. As the former head of Fox Corporation and News Corp, he controlled media outlets such as the Wall Street Journal, New York Post, and Fox News. His net worth is estimated to be $9.77 billion, and he recently announced that he would be stepping down as chairman to pass it on to his son Lachlan.
Murdoch and Zhukova began dating last summer and got engaged in March of this year. Before Zhukova, Murdoch was married to supermodel Jerry Hall, but they divorced in 2022. He also had a short-lived engagement in 2023 that was later called off. Despite his retirement from active chairman roles, Murdoch remains involved in an “active role” at News Corp and continues to serve as chairman emeritus of both companies.
