21-year-old Daniel Oyegoke has left Brentford to sign with Hearts in the Scottish Premiership. The right-back, who spent last season on loan at Bradford City in League Two, has signed a three-year contract with the Jambos.

Oyegoke, who joined Brentford in 2021 after spending four years in Arsenal’s youth academy, was a regular in Brentford’s B team before his loan spell at MK Dons in League One. He played 28 times for Bradford City last season and narrowly missed out on the League Two playoffs. Oyegoke has also represented England at various youth levels, including being part of the 2022 Under-19 European Championship winning side and playing in last year’s Under-20s World Cup.

Hearts head coach Steven Naismith commended Oyegoke’s drive to challenge himself by moving to Scottish football. Naismith noted Oyegoke’s ambition to progress his career and expressed confidence that he would be an asset to the team.

Naismith praised Oyegoke’s versatility, physicality, and composure on the ball. He highlighted Oyegoke’s willingness to take the ball under pressure, which aligns with the style of play that Hearts aim to implement. Naismith expressed his excitement about having Oyegoke join the squad and is looking forward to seeing him develop into an even better player at Hearts.
