Neta Barzilai’s life took a dramatic turn after she received a warning from doctors about the dangers of fertility damage associated with obesity. Tonight, she is expected to reveal this as one of the main reasons behind her drastic weight loss on the program “Dancing with the Stars,” where she is currently starring successfully.

For years, Neta had been proud of her ability to embrace her curves and showcase them in various ways, from modeling in revealing clothing to appearing on stage during her excess weight. However, this year’s offer to star on “Dancing with the Stars” came with a new challenge: large ranges of motion, aerobic physical capacity, and a weight that allowed mobility and lifting performance of a partner. Despite these demands, Neta continued to ignore the warnings from doctors about the negative impact of obesity on fertility.

But then she realized that it was time for a change. The doctors had warned her that obesity can harm fertility in several ways, mainly through the hormonal system. Excessive production of estrogen from adipose tissue can disrupt hormonal balance required for normal ovulation, impairing egg maturation and release from ovaries. Obesity can also cause resistance to hormones like insulin and leptin, leading to menstrual cycle disruptions and ovulation issues. In addition, obesity increases the risk of developing polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), one of the most common causes of infertility in women. It also poses risks during pregnancy such as miscarriage, preeclampsia, gestational diabetes and other complications.

Neta realized that despite not all women who are obese will face fertility difficulties; even moderate weight loss can significantly improve fertility and reduce the risks associated with obesity. And so she decided to make changes in her lifestyle by losing weight gradually but sustainably.

Tonight, Neta is expected to share her journey with fans and explain how she managed to overcome her fear of body image issues while embracing her newfound love for health and wellness.
