NBC Sports has announced a multiyear extension of its partnership with the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, continuing the relationship that began in 2019. This new deal will see a nearly 50 percent increase in NBC broadcast network coverage, with 17 hours of the premier series airing annually on NBC. In addition to the increased coverage on broadcast, all WeatherTech SportsCar Championship coverage will be streamed live on Peacock.

IMSA President John Doonan expressed excitement about the continued partnership with NBC Sports, highlighting the consistent viewership growth since the collaboration began. He emphasized the value of Peacock as a platform for delivering live, flag-to-flag coverage of endurance races to domestic race fans.

Justin Byczek, SVP of Programming and Rights Management for NBC Sports, echoed this sentiment, stating that they are proud to continue as the home of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and its support series. He emphasized that fans will be able to enjoy high-quality, competitive racing across NBC Sports’ linear and digital platforms for years to come.

Over the past five seasons, viewership of IMSA on NBC Sports’ platforms has seen a 37 percent increase. The 2023 season was the most-watched for IMSA on NBC, with a 13 percent year-over-year viewership increase. Coverage on Peacock also saw significant growth, with a 60 percent increase in total minutes streamed over 2022. As a result of this growth, NBC has decided to increase its coverage of IMSA by nearly 50 percent.
