The WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and NBC Sports have reached a new multi-year agreement that will ensure the championship remains on NBC as its official broadcaster. Under the new deal, NBC Sports will showcase 17 hours of IMSA coverage on the broadcast network each year, which is a significant increase from the previous agreement. Additionally, all WeatherTech Championship events will be available for live streaming on Peacock.

Over the past five years, viewership of IMSA races on NBC has increased by 37%, and the 2023 season was the most-watched to date with a 13% year-over-year viewership increase. This year’s IMSA coverage on Peacock has seen a significant 60% increase in total minutes streamed compared to last year.

IMSA President John Doonan expressed his satisfaction with the growing viewership of the championship and the success of the partnership with NBC Sports. He highlighted how important it is to deliver live coverage of endurance races to domestic race fans through platforms like Peacock. The extension of the agreement will result in nearly a 50% increase in hours of coverage on NBC starting next year.

Justin Byczek, SVP of Programming and Rights Management at NBC Sports, also expressed pride in continuing their partnership with IMSA, ensuring that fans can enjoy high-quality racing across all NBC Sports linear and digital platforms for years to come. The Sahlen’s Six Hours of the Glen kicks off this weekend and will air on USA Network and be available for streaming on Peacock.
