Brad Keselowski hit the wall following contact with Austin Dillon on the track during the Nashville race. As the field slowed down, Carson Hocevar took out his frustration on Harrison Burton, even though he wasn’t penalized during the race itself. The incident resulted in a $50,000 fine and a 25-point penalty from NASCAR for Hocevar. Meanwhile, Layne Riggs was penalized for reckless driving in the Truck Series race, while Hocevar escaped in-race punishment. Despite finishing 16th in the chaotic five-overtime finish, Joey Logano took the victory. Burton finished 28th, continuing his tough season where he currently sits 33rd in the points standings.

The penalty pushed Hocevar from 22nd to 24th in the standings, now 181 points outside of the playoff cutoff. To secure a playoff spot, he will need to win one of the final seven regular-season races, which will be a challenging task based on his limited success so far this season. The penalty also impacts the Rookie of the Year race, with Hocevar now trailing Josh Berry by 50 points in the rookie standings.
