Recently, the National Weather Service in Huntsville was visited by leaders and management from the NWS Office of Science and Technology Integration (OSTI). OSTI serves as the main office responsible for managing and planning research to operations projects for the NWS, as well as integrating technology across NWS field offices.

During the visit, OSTI acknowledged the valuable efforts of SPoRT in transitioning NASA research to NWS offices. They expressed interest in continuing collaborative discussions and knowledge sharing on research to operations/operations to research processes, as well as SPoRT products that have been successfully integrated into NWS operations. This afternoon session allowed for productive exchanges and insights into the important work being done by both organizations.

The visit by OSTI provided an opportunity for NWS Huntsville to showcase their achievements and partnerships, while also gaining valuable feedback and support from the main office responsible for managing research and technology integration within the NWS. This collaboration highlights the dedication and commitment of both organizations to improving weather forecasting and operations for the benefit of the public.
