Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta has caught the attention of Serie A giants, with Napoli among those interested in signing him. The 26-year-old forward had a standout season last year, scoring 16 goals in 35 Premier League games for the London club.

Napoli’s new Sporting Director, Giovanni Manna, is on the lookout for attacking reinforcements to bolster the team’s lineup. While Romelu Lukaku is their top target, Napoli is hesitant due to the high buyout clause set by Chelsea.

Another player they are considering is Girona striker Artem Dovbyk, who was La Liga’s top scorer last season and helped his team qualify for the Champions League for the first time. However, Napoli is aware of the competition for his signature and is cautious about getting into a bidding war.

According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli had looked at Mateta in the summer of 2022 before deciding to sign Victor Osimhen instead. The French striker is said to be open to a move to Serie A, with Crystal Palace valuing him at around €30M. Napoli is keeping their options open as they continue their search for attacking talent to bolster their squad.
