On May 28, more than 70 workers at Viet Nhat Garment Company in Nghe An’s Yen Thanh district experienced symptoms of food poisoning. These included headaches, stomachaches, numb hands, vomiting, fever, and erythema. The Yen Thanh District Medical Center diagnosed the workers with mild food poisoning and immediately transferred them to Yen Thanh District General Hospital and Bao Son General Hospital for treatment.

Doctors followed the protocols for food poisoning cases by administering fluids and providing necessary care to the patients. By the evening of the same day, most workers were discharged from the hospital, while four pregnant women remained under observation. Some patients are still receiving treatment at Bao Son General Hospital as of the afternoon of May 28.

The incident occurred after the kitchen at Viet Nhat Garment Company served 1,416 meals at noon on May 28. Symptoms of food poisoning manifested within 30 minutes of eating, with workers from Workshop 1 eating at 11:15 a.m. and those from Workshop 2 at 11:55 a.m. The Nghe An health sector has collected patient and food samples for testing, but results are pending.
