On Wednesday, the Museum of Science and Industry closed to move military artifacts from archival storage. Initially described as “unplanned maintenance,” the closure was necessary to ensure proper and safe removal of the artifacts. Specially trained military personnel and local officials were present on-site to oversee the process.

The relocation of the artifacts was done on short notice due to scheduling conflicts and the availability of officials. However, Kelsey Ryan, a museum spokesperson, stated that they were taking precautions and prioritizing safety during the move. Unfortunately, Ryan did not provide details about the specific type or number of artifacts being relocated, or where they were being moved to.

Despite the closure on Wednesday, the museum is expected to reopen on Thursday for regular hours. Anyone who had purchased tickets in advance for Wednesday can receive a refund or rebook their tickets by calling 773-684-1414. The museum apologized for any inconvenience caused by the closure and relocation of the artifacts.
