The muddy conditions of the fifth round of the 2024 XC World Cup season in Crans Montana were a challenge for riders, but that only made the racing even more exciting. In the women’s category, Loana Lecomte dominated with her strength and claimed her tenth World Cup victory. Despite Alessandra Keller’s efforts to close the gap, she had to settle for second place, 46 seconds behind Lecomte. Puck Pieterse finished in third place, 1:33 behind Lecomte.

In the men’s category, Tom Pidcock continued his winning streak with another victory ahead of the Tour de France. This win solidified his status as a formidable rider for the Olympics, as he remains unbeaten in the XCO races he attends this season. Mathias Flückiger earned the Swiss Olympic spot but finished just over a minute behind Pidcock. Luca Braidot managed to pass Nino Schurter in a sprint to the finish line and claimed third place.

The elite women’s category saw Loana Lecomte take first place, followed by Alessandra Keller in second and Puck Pieterse in third.
