Science teacher Louie Riojas, also known as “Mr. Real House” by his students at Frontier Academy, is preparing for surgery to remove cancer from his body. Diagnosed with tonsillar cancer that had spread to his neck lymph nodes in April, Riojas has received immense support from his friends, family, and community at the school where he teaches.
Riojas’ wife, Elaine Romero, shared that her husband is staying positive despite the difficult times, but the impact of the diagnosis can be seen both physically and mentally. To help cover medical bills and expenses such as gas, food, and lodging for his surgery in Highlands Ranch, the family has started a fundraiser on GoFundMe.
As of Wednesday morning, they have received 84 donations and raised more than $6,000 of their $10,000 goal. Romero is grateful for any support or funds raised to help them through this challenging time. Friends, loved ones
