Greater Morgantown Heart Walk is an annual event that Mon Health is encouraging its employees and patients to participate in. Hosted by the American Heart Association, Mon Health is a proud sponsor of the event and partners with the association to raise awareness of heart health and research. The walk will take place on Saturday, June 8 at The Aquatic Center & Track Complex at Mylan Park.

Walking is one of the easiest ways to increase physical activity and improve health. Physical activity increases a person’s heart rate, strengthens the heart, and increases blood circulation throughout the body, which can help bring more oxygen and nutrients to a person’s organs. By participating in the Greater Morgantown Heart Walk, individuals can not only get moving but also honor heart and stroke survivors while raising funds for heart research.

The event will feature games for children, a DJ, food trucks, and more. Chris Hedio, Disease Management Specialist at Mon Health, said that he has been honored to attend the event for several years now and encourages everyone who is able to join in on the fun and get moving for a great cause. To register for the walk, individuals may join a Mon Health team through the American Heart Association’s website, Heart.org.
