Lazio and Fenerbahce, both led by legendary manager Jose Mourinho, are reportedly interested in signing Udinese midfielder Lazar Samardzic. The Serbian international, who is currently with his national team at EURO 2024 in Germany, has a price-tag of €25m.

Last summer, Samardzic was close to a move to Inter for €15m plus midfielder Giovanni Fabbian, but the deal fell through due to last-minute contract changes requested by his agent. Similarly, a potential move to Napoli in January was also abandoned.

According to Sky Sport Italia and Sportitalia, Lazio is now considering Samardzic as they seek replacements for departing players Luis Alberto and Felipe Anderson. On the other hand, Mourinho has expressed interest in bringing the creative midfielder to his new team in Turkey at Fenerbahce. Juventus has also been linked with Samardzic, adding to the competition for his signature.

Samardzic was acquired by Udinese from RB Leipzig for €3m in 2021 and his contract runs until June 2026. During this season, he scored six goals and provided two assists in 34 Serie A appearances for Udinese. It remains uncertain which club will meet the €25m asking price set by Samardzic’s current club.
