Jose Mourinho, the two-time Champions League-winning coach, has announced that he will be returning to management with Turkish club Fenerbahce. The Portuguese coach, who has previously led teams like Porto, Inter Milan, Chelsea, Manchester United, Tottenham and Real Madrid, has been out of work since being sacked by Italian Serie A side Roma in January.

Mourinho made the announcement on Saturday while working as a pundit for TNT Sports television at the Champions League final at Wembley. He confirmed the move while expressing his excitement to start a new journey with Fenerbahce. The official appointment is expected to be made on Sunday according to Turkey’s NTV television station.

Reports suggest that Mourinho will sign a two-year contract with Fenerbahce, a club based in the Istanbul suburb of Kadikoy. Fenerbahce is one of the three big Istanbul sides that have not won their domestic league in 10 years. Mourinho’s previous coaching stint with Roma ended after two-and-a-half years with the club struggling in ninth place at the time of his dismissal.
