This week, the National Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Week is being celebrated from May 19-25 in honor of the emergency medical professionals who work tirelessly to enhance the health of their communities. The American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) and the National Associations of Emergency Medical Technicians (NAEMT) have presented this event in partnership to recognize the important contributions of EMS practitioners in safeguarding the health, safety, and well-being of their communities.

Mon Health System is joining in the celebration by honoring local EMS partners who provide front-line care in collaboration with its hospitals. Throughout the week, Mon Health System staff members will be visiting local EMS agencies to distribute treats and goodies as a token of appreciation for their dedication to emergency care. Dr. Christopher Edwards, the Emergency Services Director of Mon Health System and Chief Administrative Officer of Mon Health Marion Neighborhood Hospital, expressed pride in partnering with EMS agencies across the region and highlighted their commitment to providing timely, high-quality care to patients.
