The first edition of MolFest, a festival dedicated to pop culture, took place on 29 and 30 June in Molfetta and exceeded all expectations with over 70,000 attendees. Organized by STEP srl under the patronage of the Municipality of Molfetta, the event turned the historic center of the city into a vibrant stage, featuring interesting content and guests.
The festival, which had free admission, offered a wide range of activities involving over 60 local associations. These groups brought creativity and passion to the event, with more than 100 different events spread across 11 themed areas and 4 main stages hosting over 100 artists and guests. The theme of “Kindness” was central to the event, promoting empathy and inclusiveness.
Highlights of the festival included Cristina D’Avena’s concert, the Disney magic of the ANIMEniacs Corp, a Cosplay Contest, K-Pop performances, and itinerant music by Valkanorr. Cultural elements were also present with presentations on topics like “Simpsons and Astronomy” and a trailer screening of the documentary on Luciano Pavarotti.
The success of the first edition laid the foundation for MolFest to become a regular fixture in Italian culture. Mayor Tommaso Minervini expressed satisfaction with the event, highlighting the happiness and unity it brought to the community.
The organizers of STEP, agency of LEG Live Emotion Group praised collaboration with municipality and local associations emphasizing positive energy involved in creating this festival model further. Founder Gianluca Del Carlo expressed gratitude for trust collaboration noting ambition to develop this festival model further.
