In a remote part of Nevada, healthcare access is improving for approximately 2000 Native Americans thanks to a new mobile clinic. The mobile clinic, a converted F550, will provide a range of services including immunizations, lab testing, physician and nurse visits, wound care, and prescription medicine distribution.

The ribbon cutting for the new mobile clinic took place outside the Fallon Paiute Shoshone Health Clinic, marking its official start of operation. Joy Schultz, an RN at the clinic, emphasized the importance of reaching people where they are at, especially for those who are unable to make it to the clinic on their own.

Funded by a $672,950 emergency rural healthcare grant, the new mobile clinic is a significant development for the community. USDA Rural Development Undersecretary Basil Gooden attended the ribbon cutting ceremony and expressed his belief that this opportunity will be a game changer for the communities it serves.

The mobile clinic will cater to the Fallon Paiute Shoshone tribe, The Lovelock Paiute tribe, and the Yomba Shoshone tribe, covering approximately 200 miles of territory. For those in need of healthcare services
