The Missouri Tigers had a fantastic day on Saturday, winning two games and qualifying for the 2024 NCAA Columbia Regional Final. This was their third regional final appearance under coach Larissa Anderson. The team began the day with a 5-1 victory over Omaha, before facing them again in Game 7. This first win of the day also marked the Tigers’ 1,500th program win, making them only the 15th team in NCAA history to reach this milestone. Pitcher Laurin Krings played a crucial role in both wins, recording impressive stats and leading her team to victory.

Krings pitched both games of the day and demonstrated her skills on the field. In the first game, she pitched 5.0 innings, allowing only one hit and striking out three batters. In Game 7, Krings recorded an impressive total of 15 strikeouts through nine innings while no runs were allowed. Throughout the tournament, Krings started in all four of the Tigers’ victories, maintaining a perfect record with a remarkable earned run average.

The Tigers faced formidable competition from Omaha, with Sydney Nuismer starting in the circle for the Mavericks. The game became a pitching duel between Krings and Nuismer as both teams showcased solid defense and limited base runners.

Despite strong opposition from Omaha, Missouri managed to secure a walk-off victory in Game 9 with Madison Walker delivering the game-winning hit. Walker’s clutch performance was outstanding as she had not played since March.

With their win over Omaha, Missouri advances to Super Regionals and will host Duke in their next round matchup.

Coach Anderson praised her team’s efforts and highlighted Krings’ and Walker’s contributions in securing their victories during regional playoffs.
