The Hampden Charter School of Science East girls’ tennis team faced off against Frontier on Tuesday, earning an impressive five-set win despite losing two of the final three matches. Tiffany Munga secured a victory in one of the singles matchups, putting her team in the lead early on. Iyanla Lewis also won her singles match to take the Red Hawks’ lead even further. Thanushi Ratnatuge of Frontier kept the Red Hawks in the game with a win in the final singles matchup.

In the doubles matches, Esther Ehle and Kayla Fagan secured a win for Hampden Charter School of Science East, but it was the second doubles team of Jasmine Ortega and Saryah Brantley that sealed the victory for the home team. This win marked only the fourth combined set loss for Hampden Charter School of Science East this season, as they maintain an undefeated record at 5-0.

On the other hand, Frontier moved to 3-7 after their loss to Hampden Charter School of Science East. They will be looking to bounce back in their upcoming match against Greenfield. The boys’ team will take their momentum on the road to face Pioneer Valley Chinese Immersion Charter School on Wednesday.
