On Thursday, February 29th, 2024, the NCAA college basketball game between Gonzaga and San Francisco saw former San Francisco wing Mike Sharavjamts playing for the Dons.

Craig Smith’s roster is nearing completion after their latest commit. ESPN’s Jonathan Givony reported that Sharavjamts has committed to the Runnin’ Utes. This makes him the sixth transfer addition to the team this offseason. Standing at 6-foot-8, Sharavjamts is a Mongolia native and has a player ranking of 0.9100 according to 247 Sports. Utah will be his third team in as many seasons, having played one season at Dayton before starting 34 games for San Francisco last year.

Sharavjamts contributed an average of 25.0 minutes, 7.7 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 0.9 steals per game for the Dons last season while shooting 42.4% from the field and 36% from the 3-point range. He made an impressive contribution with his outside scoring abilities by making 41 three-pointers last season alone. Given his size and skills, he could potentially play at both the two or three positions for Utah in the upcoming season.

Joining former East Carolina power forward Ezra Ausar, Sharavjamts is the second transfer to commit to Utah within a week of each other this offseason. Other transfers that have joined the program include guards Mason Madsen and Miro Little as well as post players Keanu Dawes and Zach Keller. With Sharavjamts on board, Utah looks to add depth at both point guard and center positions while enhancing their lineup for their first season in the Big 12 Conference.

Utah still has three open spots on their roster for next season’s championship run with Sharavjamts on board they hope to add more talent to fill those spots.

In conclusion, Mike Sharavjamts’ commitment to play basketball for Craig Smith’s Runnin’ Utes adds another talented player to their roster ahead of their debut in the Big 12 Conference next year.
