Mika Health and Cancer Support Community have teamed up to offer an AI-powered digital therapeutic to cancer patients and their caregivers in the United States. The app provided by Mika Health allows patients to access psychological support to alleviate anxiety, depression, and stress related to their disease. Additionally, patients can use the app to monitor medication side effects, receive reminders, access educational resources, receive nutrition advice, and manage appointments.

This digital therapeutic has already been certified as a medical device in the European Union and is tailored to the specific type of cancer an individual is dealing with. It will soon be available to patients in North America. Sally Werner, CEO of Cancer Support Community, highlighted the challenges faced by many individuals in accessing mental health support and expressed excitement about partnering with Mika Health to provide evidence-based digital therapeutic tools for those coping with a cancer diagnosis.

The collaboration between Mika Health and Cancer Support Community also includes efforts to expand access to the app through healthcare partnerships and the network of nearly 200 CSC locations. Additionally, the partners will work together to develop multicultural and multilingual components to promote health equity and leverage CSC’s assessment tools to conduct research on psychosocial patient behaviors and treatments to enhance patient and caregiver outcomes.
