Michael Naperalsky, a highly respected coach in the strength and conditioning field, has recently been announced as the new Director of Strength and Conditioning for Olympic Sports at Iowa State Athletics Department. He joins the university after spending eight seasons at Louisville, where he served as the assistant director of sports performance.

Before his time at Louisville, Naperalsky worked as a strength and conditioning coach with the U.S. Ski and Snowboard Association and as an assistant director of athletic performance at the University of Montana. Throughout his career, he has supported athletes who have achieved significant accomplishments, including Olympic and world championship medals, X-Games medals, and NCAA championships.

Naperalsky’s experience extends to the international level, having been a staff member at the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia, and working with athletes from over 20 different countries. He holds several certifications in strength and conditioning, including master strength and conditioning coach, certified strength and conditioning coach, and certified exercise physiologist.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in exercise science from Ball State University in 2006 and his master’s degree in health and human performance from the University of Montana in 2009. His background and accomplishments make him a valuable addition to the strength
